I actually don’t find the OEM headset to be all that bad for what they are … My only concern with them, since I work in the city and frequently walk between my office and the train station, is that they clearly advertise that I have an iPod or iPhone in my pocket for all would-be muggers to see. So, I decided that I wanted headphones that were not white, offered decent sound quality, and had an integrated microphone and switch like the OEM ones. Enter the V-Moda Vibe Duos.
I reckon that’s a set of objectives a lot of people have in terms of their iPhone headphones. The Vibe Duos certainly seem to be marketed and talked about a lot of late, so it’s good to see a thorough review and see if they live up their growing rep.
Macgirl’s review fits the bill. She’s given a very complete rundown of using the Vibe Duos, their performance sound-quality wise when listening to music, and when engaged in phone conversations - and in all cases she’s provided direct and detailed comparison with both the Apple OEM headphones and a set of Etymotic ER-6i, like those Dan reviewed for us a little while back.
Definitely a good read if you’re considering the Vibe Duos, or weighing up headphones for the iPhone in general:
