water screen! It can’t be THAT hard…
I do VJ (video jockey) work at clubs and events and have been really wanting to make some type of water screen for projection. They cost $20,000 or so and i’m looking to build one for more of say, <$200. Im wanting something that would be maybe 10-15′ wide and 10-12′ tall. My idea is something like a tube on stands with some kind of nozzles that spray streams down close together into a gutter system below it with a fountain pump recirculating the flow. I figure a solid water screen that doesnt spray everywhere would be very difficult and expensive, but even one with lots of droplets or streams would be cool enough. So far ive been looking at drip irigation supply, you can get regulated nozzles at home depot for $4 for 10, but i dont know how fast a 2 gallon per hour drip would be.
The problem is that i usually am indoors at clubs and need this thing to not be spraying everywhere and making a wet area around it. Ill include some videos of professional units here. Thanks everyone for your ideas!
