I just started using Digg about a few weeks ago, and have so far gotten about 80 or so "mutual" friends (kinda aggressively, by adding them to my friends list and hoping they would do the same, but anyways).

When I currently submit a page from my website to Digg, I make sure to "shout" it to all the 80 or so people. Generally, about 20 or so dig it. Maybe a few other general Diggers digg it, but 25, then that’s it, no more.

So, I’m just curious about the best way to promote (pages of) your site using social bookmarks? Is it having the most mutual friends as possible (so you can shout it to them, and hope for some sort of viral marketing)?

I probably am approaching this method of promoting my website all wrong, but it’s the only one (and quickest too) I could think of for the time being.
